Q1 What are the warranties for different model?
Motor 3 years-lifetime. Parts 3 -10years, Labor 1-5 years ( EZ model and above 5 years ; for Econ model
1 year and wall mounted 3 years.)
Q2 What does CFM stand for ?
Cubic feet per minute (measuring how much air is being pull).
Q3 How does auto clean work?
Will clean blower casing, oil tube and oil pan automatically with one push of the button. We encourage our customers to clean the hood weekly so that the hood will stay clean and have trouble free performance during its lifespan.
Q4 What are the requirements for basic installation?
Cabinet with 6” or larger duct and electrical wiring.
Q5 What is the require duct size?
6” round or larger. If the duct is larger, suction and noise level will improve. If it’s less than 6”, back flow will occur and noise level will increase.
Q6 Does Pacific hoods meet all government require?
Yes, all our hoods are approved by either UL or CSA.
Q7 What is the advantage for filter-less hood?
1. Better suction (screen on filter hoods will clogged gradually and reduce suction).
2. Filter-less hood is quieter vs. filter hood even with a much higher CFM.
Q8 Do I only turn on the hood when frying?
We recommended turning on the hood when the stove is on because even when simmer, there are oil, Steam and odor coming out of the pot. By having the hood turn on when cooking, it will also reduce the temperature for the cooking area and will prolong the lifespan of the hood.
Q9 What is the different between stainless steel and color hood?
Colors are enamel material and it’s easier to clean. S/S will last longer and rust resistant is better than enamel.
Q10 Why is my hood so loud vs. your showroom and my neighbor?
Noise level depends on many factors such as, size of the duct, length of the duct, turns, temperature and altitude will contribute to the different noise level.
Q11 Do you recommend outlet inside the cabinet or pigtail for the electrical?
Both are fine as long as it’s done by qualify electrician.
Q12 What advantage does the deflector board have?
Our deflector offers three advantages (more suction coverage, easier to clean and a nice appearance). Our deflector board is made out of NANO technology and makes oil hard to stick to the surface and makes cleaning easy.
Q13 How can I keep my plastic oil cups from cracking?
After each use, dispense the dirty water and leave small amount of clean water in the cup and it will reducer the temperature and prolong the life of the cup.
Q14 How do I clean my safety grill ?
We found that using small amount of all purpose 409 with Powder cleaner and brush it right away will normally do the job.
Q15 How long does it take to install a pacific hood?
1. Basic installation---45 min
2. Lower hood or connect wall pipe---1:15
3. Wall job---1:30
4. Roof job---2 to 2:30
Q16 My hood is getting louder after a period of used, why?
1. Good chance the screen on the side wall cap is dirty (needs to be clean or remove).
2. Damper not opening all the way.
3. Grease built up needs cleaning

Q1 How many ways to mount the hood?
1.Hood can be mounted under the cabinet or mounted to the wall.
2.Venting can be vertical from the top or horizontal from the rear.
Q2 What are the requirements for basic installation?
Cabinet with 6” or larger duct and electrical wiring.
Q3 Do I need to take down the fans to clean?
It’s not necessary for auto clean model. The blower casing and oil pan collect the most oil. If auto clean is being used as recommended, there is not need to remove parts to clean. The fan blade is coated and will repel excess oil to oil pan, and being flush out when auto clean feature is used. If you like to remove the parts to clean, we do have EZ model which is easy to take apart to clean.
Q4 What is the suggested distance between stove top to the bottom of the hood?
Ideal distance is between 24” to 30”. Suction will be poor is mounted too high and fire hazardous if mounted too low.
Q5 How often do we need to use Auto-Clean to clean our hood?
We recommend cleaning your hood once a week.
Q6 Do I need to use a damper?
We recommend using damper in extremely hot or cold weather area. Noise level will increase when damper is installed. Damper is used to prevent hot/cold air coming in or out of the house when hood is not in use.
Q7 How do I change the halogen bulb and where can I buy them?
Halogen bulb can be removed by hand or by rubber suction by turning the bulbs counter-clockwise (please use caution and don’t touch the bulb while it’s hot). Halogen bulb can be purchased from our retail showroom or any hardware store.
Q8 What is the white round plastic collar inside the of the hood package?
It’s use as a connection between the top of our hood to the duct. Its makes a perfect seal ensure no air or water leak
Q9 What is the different between galvanized pipe and flex pipe?
California code require galvanized pipe to be use with new construction and remodel. Galvanized pipe is better heat resistant, longer life span, smooth air flow and quieter than flex pipe
Q10 My cabinet is larger than 30” but can I use 30” hood?
We recommend using a hood that is the same size of the cabinet because by having gap on either side of the hood, over a period of time, oil and dirt will collect and will be very hard to clean.
Q11 I have stove and oven combo, what do I need to do?
You will need to replace both units. Make sure there is 110 volts wiring for the range hood. Distance from counter top to bottom of the cabinet is usually higher for the stove and oven combo. Therefore, you might need to choose our ACPRO model or have the hood lower to obtain proper distance for optimum suction.
